Automatic Transfer Switches
It
is important that the electrical power you require is managed in a safe and reliable
manner. KOHLER has engineered a complete family of automatic transfer switches
(ATS) to assure you of continuous power in emergency situations.
Available from 30 to 4000 amperes, KOHLER's automatic transfer switches sense when the voltage from the normal power source (usually utility) drops below a preset minimum. At this point, the ATS signals the emergency generator to start and transfers the required load to the gen set. When the original electrical power source is restored, the ATS will retransfer the load to normal power and shut down the generator.
For the sophisticated installation, KOHLER's M340 series ATS offers a PC interface with remote monitoring capability. From a central location, the system allows the customer to monitor and communicate with multiple remote installations anywhere in the world.

Generator Controls
Generator controls are designed to display data and monitor functions such as warnings, shutdown modes, voltage and power information to determine the status of the complete systems installation.
A
family of controller options allow the customer to decide the degree of technology
they want to design into their power systems installation. From basic economical
formats to sophisticated remote monitoring capability, KOHLER offers a complete
program to meet every requirement.
The Kohler Decision Maker 340 controls allows the customer to:
- Monitor engine functions and all alternator outputs.
- Store and display the generator system history.
- Monitor generator(s), automatic transfer switch and switchgear from remote locations, communicated using PC software.
- Network up to 128 generators from one remote monitoring site.

Switchgear
KOHLER switchgear is designed to manage your power needs by carefully monitoring and adjusting the load between generators that have been installed to work in tandem. The paralleling of multiple generator sets is a long accepted technique for increasing the amount of available electrical power required for variable load conditions.
The
switchgear will automatically synchronize, parallel, and match the electrical
power from a number of generators, to the size of the load requirement.
KOHLER switchgear is designed for:
- North American and International specifications
- Emergency Standby or Prime power installations
- Interruptible Rate or Peak Shaving applications
- Wall and floor-mounted configurations
Your complete power system including generator set(s), switchgear, and automatic transfer switches are factory tested as a system, at KOHLER, prior to shipment to eliminate any possible problems at the job site.

From
powering water pumping stations in Angola to providing emergency power for Yellowstone
National Park, KOHLER's extensive line-up of Standby/Prime generators power airports,
hospitals, factories, and communications centers that knit together a global marketplace.
