Print Arc Flash Mitigation Seminar - Burlington

Arc Flash Mitigation Seminar

Burlington
March 12, 2008 – Hy Vee Conference Room, 939 Angular St., Burlington, IA
(Get directions)

Every day 5 to 10 arc flash events occur in electrical equipment in the U.S. In recent years OSHA has imposed significant fines after investigating such events and has used NFPA 70E to judge whether or not the employer acted reasonabl in protecting its workers.

OSHA imposed fines are only part of the cost to industry and society attributable to arc flash events. Exposure to a serious arc flash incident is often a life changing experience for the person(s) involved.

The Ferraz Shawmut “Arc Flash Mitigation Seminar” will help you understand the hazards, issues and responsibilities faced by electrical workers and their employers.  You’ll learn how current-limiting fuses can play a key role in an effective mitigation program. Here is a summary of the material covered during this seminar.

Part 1 – Over-currents and Arc Energy
Part 2 – Arc Flash Hazards
Part 3 – Codes and Standards
Part 4 – Fuse Performance
Part 5 – Starting a Mitigation Program
Part 6 – The Flash Hazard Analysis
Part 7 -- Arc Flash Clothing (FR and PPE)
Part 8 -- Lock out and Tag Out procedures

$75 Reservation Fee - includes NFPA 70E pamphlet, program literature and catered lunch.
